I am an experienced freelance consultant and writer, working independently since 1996

I have worked extensively for local government, national bodies such as IDeA and the Audit Commission, and also in the third sector. I specialise in the fields of:

• Strategic policy development – e.g. academic research and commissioned writing, national advisor roles re LSPs, LAAs, Neighbourhood governance, Neighbourhood Renewal Adviser.

• Performance management and regulation regimes e.g. Best Value, CAA, CPA, LAA, Total Place, Audit Commission Area Profiles, PIs for Quality of Life, Community involvement ; and

• Community leadership, neighbourhood governance and engagement strategies

I have worked for the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies, Goldsmiths University of London on two research projects (see Publications), taught on an MA at City University and been a visiting research fellow at the Open University Business School. I was awarded an MA with Distinction by City University 2000.

Prior to that I was senior manager in local government with responsibilities for corporate policy and performance, and a community worker and campaigner.
